On May 17, 2022, law enforcement officers responded to a residence in Halfway, Missouri, following a 911 call reporting a suicide. The caller, Lucky J. Johnson, claimed that his wife, 27-year-old female Darrianna Merynn Johnson, had shot herself while he was asleep in their shared bed. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Darrianna deceased inside the home with a single gunshot wound, and a 12-gauge pump shotgun was observed resting parallel to her body, pointing toward her head.
