In the early morning hours of March 24, 2008, a sense of routine was shattered by an act of sudden violence that claimed the life of 28-year-old Carla Sanchez. Sanchez was in her vehicle, parked on the side of the street in the area of 6400 West Clarendon Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona, when the unthinkable happened. At approximately 5:45 a.m., another vehicle, described only as being black, pulled up alongside hers.
Without warning, a suspect inside the dark-colored car opened fire, the gunshots piercing the morning quiet and fatally injuring Carla. The assailant, whose identity remains unknown, fled the scene, leaving behind a tragic and unsolved crime. The Phoenix Police Department and Silent Witness are still seeking information from the public to bring closure to Carla Sanchez's case and her family. A reward has been offered for any information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for this senseless act of violence.
