In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Phoenix, Arizona, the life of 18-year-old Riann Alorae Curry was tragically cut short. On March 20, 2022, Riann, a junior at El Dorado High School and an aspiring artist, had been out with several friends after attending an event. The group ended up at a park located at 2230 W. Roeser Rd., where an altercation broke out.
The confrontation escalated into a shootout, and in the chaos that ensued, Riann was struck by gunfire.
Following the shooting, several vehicles were seen fleeing the park. Riann was transported to a local hospital, but she ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The young woman, known for a smile that could light up a room and a fierce love for her family and friends, was pronounced dead.
Phoenix police investigators arrived at a sprawling crime scene, recovering over one hundred shell casings, indicating that multiple individuals were likely involved in the shooting. Despite the numerous people present at the park that morning, authorities have yet to make any arrests in connection with Riann's death.
