On May 14, 2016, a tragic incident occurred in Phoenix, Arizona, resulting in the death of 41-year-old Mercy Cordova. The events unfolded when Francis Clark, Cordova's 43-year-old boyfriend, shot and killed her at his apartment located near 37th Avenue and McDowell Road.

The incident began with multiple 911 calls from several individuals who reported a man with a gun chasing a woman, identified as Mercy Cordova. Upon receiving these calls, police were dispatched to the scene.
