Kevaun Pervis Evester Hughes, a 14-year-old from Kansas City, Missouri, tragically lost his life on August 15, 2022. Kevaun was shot and killed outside a convenience store located in the 2600 block of Brooklyn Avenue. The incident occurred just after 11:30 p.m., and when officers arrived at the scene, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Kevaun succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the second victim survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
