In the early hours of a Tuesday morning in Kansas City, Missouri, tragedy struck a young man. On June 22, 2021, 22-year-old Ja’len Scott-Jackson was inside a residence in the 1900 block of East 24th Terrace when the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet of the neighborhood. Someone had fired into the home, and Scott-Jackson was struck.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 4 a.m. and rushed the young man to a nearby hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life.
