On September 26, 2022, law enforcement officers from the St. Louis County Police Department responded to a call for service regarding a shooting in the unincorporated area of Concord, specifically within the 5100 block of Golf Ridge Lane. Upon arrival at the scene around 2:12 p.m., authorities discovered 21-year-old Jynese King, an African American female, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds on the grass outside an apartment complex.
Despite the arrival of emergency personnel, she was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, another adult woman found at the location, had also sustained gunshot injuries but was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds and was subsequently released.
Detectives with the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons launched an investigation into the homicide, which preliminary reports suggested stemmed from an argument between familiar parties. A witness provided critical details to investigators, stating that King’s roommate, identified as Tyresha T. Jordan, had arrived at the residence in a white sedan accompanied by two unidentified men. According to court documents, the two men began assaulting King before Jordan allegedly instructed them to open fire, resulting in the fatal shooting.
Following the investigation, prosecutors charged 24-year-old Tyresha T. Jordan with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with King's death. Authorities alleged that Jordan played a decisive role in the violence that led to her roommate's killing. Jordan was taken into custody and held in the St. Louis County jail on a $250,000 cash-only bond. As of the time of the charges being filed, she did not have an attorney listed in the court records, and police continued to seek information regarding the other individuals involved in the incident.
