Deshawn D. Ward, a 19-year-old resident of Indianapolis, was killed on January 5, 2014, during an attempted robbery at his home. The incident occurred on the city's west side, specifically in the 900 block of King Avenue. Deshawn and his brother were both shot when two men entered the home during near-blizzard conditions.
