On the morning of Thursday, May 13, 2021, a fatal shooting incident occurred in the parking lot of a motel on the east side of Indianapolis, Indiana, claiming the life of 22-year-old Marquise Jaye Lang. The events unfolded just after midnight when Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the Budget 8 Inn, located in the 6800 block of East 21st Street, following reports of a possible shooting.
