Justin Hignite, a 24-year-old man from Indianapolis, was fatally shot on the night of March 15, 2026, after what police described as a disturbance involving him and several other people at the LongHorn Steakhouse on East 82nd Street in the Castleton area. What began as an ordinary Sunday evening in one of the city’s busiest shopping and dining corridors turned violent just before 9 p.m., when officers were called to the restaurant and found Hignite suffering from gunshot wounds.
