Paul Overstreet, a 45-year-old fireman, was tragically killed on August 3, 1963, in a rail yard in Hammond, Indiana. Overstreet, along with engineer Roy Bottorf, was found dead in the cab of their freight train. Both men had been shot in the back of the head with a .22 caliber weapon. The discovery was made by a switchman who noticed the train had not moved and went to investigate.
