Shermaine Burger Sargent, a 20-year-old resident of Hammond, Indiana, tragically lost his life on January 5, 2018. According to reports, Sargent was found with a gunshot wound to his chest in an alley located in the 6700 block of New Jersey Street in Hammond. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., and he was discovered lying just outside a vehicle that had been stolen from Calumet City, Illinois.
