Deputy Sheriff Gerald L. Morris, aged 28, tragically lost his life on January 2, 1981, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was responding to a robbery-in-progress call at the Bargain Barrel Clothing Store. Deputy Morris, who was off duty but working a security job in uniform, arrived at the scene in a marked security car.
