On May 15, 2023, Eric Lamarr Portis Sr., a 52-year-old resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, died following a shooting incident on the city's east side. The incident occurred in the 2300 block of Barnor Drive, near East 21st Street and North Arlington Avenue, when police responded to a report of a person shot around 1 p.m..
