In the quiet town of Kokomo, Indiana, a grim discovery was made on the morning of December 11, 1981. Inside their trailer, lay the bodies of 21-year-old Thomas E. 'Tommy' Miller, a male, and his pregnant wife, Kimberly. Both had been shot multiple times at close range with a. 38 caliber pistol, a violent end to their young lives. Near each of their bodies, a dime had been placed, a symbolic message in the criminal underworld for being an informant.
