In the early hours of a December morning in Kokomo, Indiana, the life of Sharman M. Pearson II, a 42-year-old man, was tragically cut short. Just after midnight on December 23, 2020, police were dispatched to the 800 block of South Elm Street following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Pearson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead shortly after 12:30 a.m.
The investigation into Pearson's death led authorities to identify a suspect in the fatal shooting. Terrence Ben, an 18-year-old resident of Chicago, became the focus of the police inquiry. The investigation culminated in Ben's arrest on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. He was taken into custody from his home in Chicago and subsequently faced a charge of murder in connection with Pearson's death. At the time of Ben's arrest, law enforcement officials indicated that they anticipated making further arrests as their investigation continued.
