In the early morning hours of March 27, 1997, the quiet of a South Bend, Indiana neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Inside his home at 637 East Indiana Street, 56-year-old Francisco Gonzales, a White / Caucasian male, was fatally wounded.
