James L. Davis Jr., a police officer with the Butler University Police Department in Indianapolis, Indiana, tragically lost his life on September 24, 2004. Officer Davis was responding to a report of a suspicious person outside Hinkle Fieldhouse on the university campus. The suspect had been observed watching the women's basketball team practice for an extended period, prompting concerns and a call to the police.
