Eric T. Mathis, aged 32, was found dead on October 8, 2014, in Indianapolis, Indiana. His body was discovered inside a vacant house in the 3300 block of North Wallace Avenue on the east side of the city. Mathis had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. On the same day and nearby, police were investigating the separate shooting death of Dominic Amey Jr., aged 23, but authorities did not believe the two homicides were connected.
