In the late hours of March 30, 2014, a tragic event unfolded in an apartment building on Shoreland Court in Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 58-year-old Stephen Herold. Herold, a male, was discovered by police alongside two other individuals, James Czajkowski, 59, and Martha Zuluaga, 53, all suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. The scene within the apartment suggested a violent end to what investigators would later suspect was a drug-related dispute.
The investigation into the
triple homicide led authorities to two suspects, Keith Clark and Deandre Kendrick, who were formally charged with the murders in December of 2014. Clark, who reportedly went by the moniker 'Murder Man,' was alleged to have been confident that no evidence would connect them to the crime. However, the path to justice proved to be complex and ultimately elusive.
In April 2015, a Marion County jury found Keith Clark not guilty of the murder charges, leading to his acquittal. Following this verdict, the case against the second suspect, Deandre Kendrick, also unraveled. The charges against Kendrick were dismissed in July 2016. This development occurred a month after Kendrick was sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 45 years for his involvement in a separate murder case. The deaths of Stephen Herold, James Czajkowski, and Martha Zuluaga officially remain unsolved.
