In the spring of 2014, a sense of normalcy was shattered in a South Bend, Indiana neighborhood, leaving a family and community devastated by a senseless act of violence. On the afternoon of April 9th, two-year-old John Swoveland Jr., a Caucasian male, was enjoying the day, playing in the front yard of his aunt's home on Campeau Street.
