Dretarrius Rodgers, an 18-year-old from Elkhart, Indiana, tragically lost his life on September 10, 2014, during a botched robbery attempt. Rodgers, along with Freddie Rhodes and Deante Dalton, planned to rob a purported drug dealer known as "Boi" at a home in Elkhart County. The group believed that drugs and money were stored in the basement of the house. Rodgers and Rhodes, both armed, went to the basement while Dalton stayed upstairs and another accomplice, Victor Kyle, waited outside.
