On a Monday evening in Fort Wayne, Indiana, 34-year-old Karon Elders, a Black male, was found lying in the middle of the intersection of Oliver and Oxford Streets. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The Allen County Coroner's Office officially ruled his death a homicide. The incident, which occurred on May 25, 2015, prompted an immediate and thorough investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department.
