Michael Mason Jr., a 16-year-old from Indianapolis, was tragically shot and killed on January 3, 2023, outside Castleton Square Mall. The incident occurred due to a mix-up involving two nearly identical cars. Michael and his friend, Eddie Smith Sr.'s son, mistakenly approached a white Chevrolet Impala, thinking it was their own vehicle. The shooter, Clyde Johnson, was inside the car and, believing he was about to be robbed, opened fire on the teenagers.
