Born in South Bend on January 4, 1990, he was a man with a profound passion for music, teaching himself to play the drums and other instruments by ear. His musical talents led him to perform at various venues, including the University of Notre Dame, and he was reportedly close to completing his first rap album. Beyond his musical pursuits, he was known for his love of singing, playing basketball, and cutting hair. His family and friends remembered him as a loving and respectful young man.
In the days and weeks that followed Tyeshon Dotson's death, police actively searched for suspects.
