Markest Flowers, a 27-year-old resident of South Bend, Indiana, tragically lost his life on May 31, 2016. Flowers was shot in the head at the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Main Street in downtown South Bend. The incident occurred after a confrontation with Michael Young, a 70-year-old man who claimed he was acting in self-defense.
