In the late hours of a November night in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the life of Harold Von Harrington III, a 26-year-old male, was tragically cut short. On November 21, 2015, Harrington was discovered inside his car, which was riddled with bullets. He had been sitting in his vehicle, simply listening to music, when the fatal shooting occurred.
Born on April 18, 1989, in Orange, California, Harold was a father to two daughters, Ma'Riyah and Londyn Harrington.
His death left a void in the lives of his family, which included his two mothers, Lynette Scroggins and Lawana Cooper Walker, a brother, and three sisters. Those who knew him remembered him as a quiet and very friendly individual who was often seen smiling. He attended Northrop High School.
The investigation into Harrington's murder eventually led to the arrest of a suspect, Donte Curry. However, the path to justice took a turn during the subsequent trial. In February 2023, after a jury deliberated for over five and a half hours, Donte Curry was found not guilty of the murder of Harold Von Harrington. The defense argued that there was a lack of direct evidence, such as surveillance footage or DNA, to definitively link Curry to the crime scene. Ultimately, no one has been convicted for the murder of Harold Von Harrington.
