In a tragic incident on March 5, 2016, 19-year-old Dazjuan Lyle was shot and killed in Indianapolis. The shooting occurred in the 600 block of North Exeter Avenue, where Lyle was found deceased. Investigators believe the motive for the deadly shooting was robbery.
Following an investigation by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives, two suspects were identified and apprehended.
On June 7, 2016, arrest warrants were served for 19-year-olds Deiontae Evans and Devaughn Farmer. Both men were taken into custody and faced preliminary charges of Murder, Attempted Murder, and Robbery in connection with Lyle's death.
During the arrest of Farmer, authorities also executed a search warrant at a residence in the 3900 block of Rue Renoir. The search yielded two handguns, a significant quantity of marijuana, and a large sum of cash. Following their arrests, Evans and Farmer were incarcerated at the Marion County Jail.
