Anthony Keith Morris, an 18-year-old male, was shot and killed in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Sunday, April 17, 2016. The incident, which stemmed from a dispute over a cell phone, ultimately led to the arrests of four individuals.
The conflict began when Cornisha Johnson, 33, witnessed her daughter in a physical altercation with Morris, who believed his cell phone was in the girl's purse.
After Johnson intervened and was allegedly struck by Morris, she is said to have enlisted the help of brothers Tyree, Tyren, and Tywain Henning. Johnson and the Henning brothers then located Morris at a local business in the 2000 block of East 30th Street.
Inside the establishment, an attack on Morris ensued, which then moved out into the parking lot. It was there that Morris was fatally shot. Following an investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, arrest warrants were issued for the four suspects. Tyree Henning, 23, was charged with Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder. Cornisha Johnson, Tyren Henning, 17, and his twin brother, Tywain Henning, 17, were all charged with Aiding in Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder.
Tyree Henning, Cornisha Johnson, and Tyren Henning were all taken into custody in May and June of 2016. Tywain Henning, however, remained at large following the incident. In a turn of events, Tyree Henning was later convicted and sentenced in 2021 for a separate murder that occurred in 2020. The final legal outcomes for Cornisha Johnson and Tyren Henning regarding the death of Anthony Keith Morris are not readily available in public online sources. Tragically, Tywain Henning was himself the victim of a homicide in June 2023.
