In the autumn of 2016, the life of 30-year-old Anton Javon Moore, a Black male from Fort Wayne, Indiana, was tragically cut short. On the morning of October 19, 2016, his body was discovered in a ditch off Fairfield Avenue. The Allen County Coroner's Office would later confirm that he had died from gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
Anton, born on December 11, 1985, was remembered by loved ones for his enjoyment of music, the time he spent with family and friends, and his willingness to help others.
The grim discovery of Anton's body was tragically intertwined with another death investigation just miles away. Minutes after his body was found, his girlfriend, Jaime Lynn Klein, also 30, was found stabbed to death in her New Haven home. Investigators quickly determined that the two homicides were connected, launching a years-long investigation to bring those responsible to justice. For years, the case remained cold, leaving a void in the lives of their families.
A significant breakthrough in the investigation came in 2023 when Allen County prosecutors announced charges against three individuals. Reginald Gant, described as a longtime friend of Anton, was charged with two counts of murder. Already serving a federal prison sentence for drug-related offenses, Gant was accused of shooting Anton in the back of the head while they were in a car together. Two other individuals, Gregory Allen Robinson and Priya Lynntoyia Whitt, were also charged with murder. They were accused of dumping Anton's body before proceeding to Jaime's home where they allegedly stabbed her to death. Court documents, supported by witness testimonies, implicated all three in the brutal slayings. Following the arrests, Gregory Robinson faced two counts of Murder, and Priya Whitt was charged with two counts of aiding in Murder.
