On a Monday morning in Elkhart, Indiana, the Washington Gardens housing complex was shattered by the sound of gunfire. It was November 7, 2016, when 37-year-old Edmund Adams, a male resident of Elkhart, was shot while inside a vehicle around 10 a.m. Following the shooting, the car crashed into one of the apartment buildings in the complex.
