On August 21, 2017, at approximately 9:45 p.m., 30-year-old Samuel Ghebremichael was fatally shot in the 3800 block of North Emerson Avenue on Indianapolis's northeast side. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Ghebremichael at the scene. Despite prompt medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries.
