On a late summer afternoon in Fort Wayne, Indiana, tragedy struck, forever altering the lives of those who knew Christopher Floyd Finley. On August 31, 2017, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a call around 3:45 p.m. regarding a shooting in the 4100 block of Lillie Street. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medical personnel provided immediate care at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital in critical condition.
