In the early morning hours of February 9, 2017, the body of 16-year-old Quinlan I. Partington was discovered by a passerby in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The young man was found unresponsive in the 3200 block of Diplomat Drive at approximately 6:20 a.m. Emergency services responded to the scene, and he was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
The Allen County Coroner's Office later confirmed that Quinlan Partington's death was the result of
a gunshot wound or wounds, and his death was officially ruled a homicide. At the time of his death, Quinlan was a student at Heritage High School, where he was known for being a class clown. He had a passion for playing basketball, football, and video games. Although he was residing in Fort Wayne, he had spent a significant portion of his life in Sidney, Ohio.
The investigation into Quinlan's murder is ongoing and is being handled by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor's Office, and the coroner's office. Detectives have received information suggesting that Quinlan may have been involved in thefts from vehicles on the night he was killed. Authorities have conducted numerous interviews with his friends and have indicated that they may have even spoken with a potential suspect. However, no arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the homicide, and the case remains unsolved.
