On the evening of September 30, 2017, a violent incident unfolded on the south side of Indianapolis, Indiana, claiming the life of 21-year-old Black male Christopher Bowman. At approximately 9:00 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the 2400 block of Dawson Street following reports of gunfire in the area.
