In the early hours of a Saturday in Indianapolis, the life of 22-year-old Jakoby D. Hughes was tragically cut short. On September 3, 2016, police responded to a report of a person shot at the intersection of 22nd and Bellefontaine Streets on the city's near north side. Arriving at approximately 12:45 a.m., officers discovered Hughes on the sidewalk, having sustained at least one fatal gunshot wound. Nearby, a car was found still running.
