On the afternoon of February 20, 2018, a violent incident unfolded at an apartment complex on Northcrest Drive in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Shaquille Jovon Rancefer, a 24-year-old Black male, was inside his residence when he was targeted by an unknown assailant. First responders arrived at the scene around 4:06 p.m. following reports of a shooting, but despite their efforts, the young father had suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
