On August 13, 2018, the decomposing body of a male subject was discovered in a wooded area of the Rangeline Nature Preserve in Anderson, Indiana. The remains were located just west of Mounds State Park, prompting an investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. The victim was subsequently identified as 36-year-old David Lamar Phillips II, a white male resident of Anderson.
