In the midst of a violent and tragic week in Gary, Indiana, the body of 55-year-old White male Jimmy Valentine was discovered on the afternoon of February 25, 2019. Police responded to a call around 12:22 p.m. regarding a man down in a ditch along the 2500 block of Calhoun Street. Upon arrival, officers found Valentine unresponsive, and the Lake County Coroner's Office subsequently ruled his death a homicide caused by a gunshot wound.
