Elijiah Johnson, a 78-year-old resident of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on February 8, 2020. Johnson, a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Mill and an honorably discharged veteran of the US Army, was found dead in his vehicle in the parking garage of the Blue Chip Casino. The Michigan City Police Department responded to a welfare check call around 12:30 p.m. and discovered Johnson with an apparent gunshot wound.
