On a spring morning in Indianapolis, the life of 25-year-old Mark Edward Allen III, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On May 17, 2020, police responded to reports of gunfire in the 2300 block of North Moreland Avenue around 11:30 a.m. Arriving at the scene, they discovered Allen suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services were unable to save him, and he was pronounced dead at the location.
