George Barnett Nelson Sr., a 56-year-old resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, and the owner of Pa & Ma's Backyard BBQ, was fatally shot on August 21, 2024. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the 2600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street, near West 26th Street, outside his restaurant which had recently relocated to this area less than six months prior.
