A 34-year-old man, Manuel Mendez, lost his life in a shooting on the evening of Saturday, June 13, 2020, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The incident occurred in the 2800 block of Gilmore Avenue, a residential area on the city's southeast side. Officers from the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to the scene following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mendez suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
