On the evening of July 5, 2020, which was also his 36th birthday, Kenneth Leon Whitman, a Caucasian male, was shot and killed in Elkhart, Indiana. The Elkhart Police Department received a call about a shooting with injuries at approximately 8:15 p.m. and dispatched officers to a residence at 1548 Laurelwood Drive. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Whitman suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
