In the cool night air of a crowded parking lot outside a Gary, Indiana nightclub, the life of 28-year-old Kevin Blackmon, a male resident of Gary, came to a violent and tragic end. On a September evening, chaos erupted as more than 80 gunshots echoed through the night, sending patrons scrambling for cover. When the firing ceased, Blackmon lay grievously wounded, having sustained 14 gunshot wounds.
