In the pre-dawn hours of an autumn Wednesday, the life of Nathaniel Leslie, a 32-year-old man from Indianapolis, was violently extinguished. On October 21, 2020, at approximately 5:30 a.m., gunshots shattered the morning calm in the 1000 block of East Washington Street. Arriving officers discovered Leslie with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital in serious condition, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
