In Indianapolis, on a Monday evening in November 2020, a 32-year-old Black male named Stephan Cannon was found inside a car, having sustained a gunshot wound. The discovery was made by Metro police officers shortly after 5 p.m. in the 800 block of N. Denny Street on the city's east side.
Officers arriving at the scene pulled Mr. Cannon from the vehicle and immediately began performing life-saving measures.
He was then rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The Marion County Coroner's Office later confirmed the identity of the victim as Stephan Cannon.
