On a cold Tuesday evening in East Chicago, Indiana, the sound of gunfire shattered the winter quiet. On December 15, 2020, at approximately 5:54 PM, police responded to a call of shots fired at an apartment building on Guthrie Street. There, they discovered a grim scene. Seventeen-year-old Jayden Brown, a male resident of East Chicago, was found unresponsive on the sidewalk in front of the building. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
