Police were dispatched around 8 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. They discovered Jesus's body inside a red Ford Explorer, located five blocks from where the initial confrontation occurred. An autopsy would later reveal that he had been shot a dozen times. Shortly after the incident, 18-year-old Christopher Wells was identified as the suspect and charged with murder.
