On a Tuesday evening in Indianapolis, Indiana, 15-year-old Keleante Brewer was walking with his younger brother and friends with a basketball in hand, on their way to a nearby church to play a game. It was around 8 p.m. on June 15, 2021, in the 9800 block of Ellis Drive on the northeast side of the city. As they walked, a passing car made a U-turn, and shots were fired from the vehicle.
